Cute little place! Some of the best and authentic soul food / breakfast that I've tried so far in Tallahassee! It's a small local diner type restaurant that gets really packed during lunch hours. I love the salmon cakes, scrambled eggs, and Mac n cheese!

I first came to Olean's when I was a student at FAMU.....long before I became a Yelper. Ms. Olean's is a staple in Tallahassee. She has been serving quality southern food to the Tallahassee community for a very long time. Her restaurant is a small cafe style place that has a comforting family feel that many restaurants have lost over the years. The gospel music playing on the overhead is refreshing and the staff are really nice. On to the food.....first and foremost, the pricing is unbeatable and the portion sizes are huge! I can't handle a lot of soul food and it is hard for me to eat it because I don't eat pork so there isn't a lot that I have tried on the menu but based on the amount of people the frequent this place, all of the food has got to be superb! Today, I had some grits, eggs and I was pleased to see they offer turkey sausage. It was amazing and I was stuffed when I was finished....The foods fresh and seasoned to perfection. My girlfriend had the pork chop breakfast which came with grits and eggs. She told me the pork chop was seasoned to perfection. We arrived about 10am and they were transitioning into lunch but offered to fry her a fresh piece. She said it was worth every bit of the wait. If you have never tried Ms. Olean's, you are missing out on some good eating! I'll be back. She's got our vote!

The food here is fine, I’ve been to this establishment about 5/6 times and I just experienced the worst service ever today. After I paid for my food with my debit card I proceeded to purchase one of their bracelets with a 20 dollar bill and the cashier (not the lady who was usually there when I went) gave me back 3 dollars, after I explained to her I gave her a 20 she proceeded to tell me I only gave her 5. At the end of the day I don’t disrespect my elders so I just left, but I will not be eating in this place ever again .

Great gravy. They wrap the biscuits and toast and Saran wrap so they kind of get soggy. The fried fish is excellent and so is the grits they will always be a line there so be prepared. And ms olean is a sweetie
